Linda V. Swarts, RDH, BS
Linda V. Swarts of Jacksonville, North Carolina is the American Dental Hygienists’Association (ADHA) District IV trustee that represents N.C., S.C., Ga. and Fla.
Swarts is employed by the NC Oral Health Section, Division of Public Health, Department of Health and Human Services as a state public health dental hygienist serving Onslow County and Onslow County Schools. She worked as a clinical dental hygienist for 16 years prior to her current position. During that time, she also
worked as a part time clinical instructor at Coastal Carolina Community College.
Swarts graduated from the dental hygiene program at Coastal Carolina Community College in 1983. In 1999 she completed her Bachelor of Health Science degree in Dental Hygiene Management from Campbell University. Linda is a lifetime member of the Coastal Carolina Dental Hygiene Association, the local tripartite component of the NCDHA/ADHA.
She has held many state and local offices before being elected as ADHA District Trustee.
• She served as President of the North Carolina Dental Hygiene Association from Oct 2000 until Sept 2001.
• She is a senior member of the North Carolina Dental Hygiene Academy of Advanced Studies.
• Swarts is a member of the Coastal Carolina Community College Dental Advisory Committee.
• In May, 2001, the Raleigh News and Observer named her ‘Tar Heel of the Week’ for her work in dental hygiene.
She has been married for 31 years to George H. Swarts and has two adult children.
