Sunstar/RDH Award of Distinction
"Unselfish," "extraordinary," "devoted," and "changing lives" are
all terms that have been used to describe the 2013 Sunstar/RDH Award of
Distinction recipients. When an individual finds a way to change

defined as compassion. Each 2013 recipient demonstrates compassion,
whether it be with children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities,

A Message From Our President
I am honored and privileged to serve as President of the
North Carolina Dental Hygiene Association.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of dental hygiene. As I reflect on our past with the changes and
challenges our profession has encountered, I am honored to be dental hygienist.
As dental hygienists we need to continue to work as one to
promote our profession and the oral health of North Carolinians. I encourage you to look towards the future
and embrace the advancement of dental hygiene.
As ADHA has themed the 100th Anniversary “Proud Past,
Unlimited Future,” I believe our opportunities are limitless as we promote our
profession and serve the public.
I look forward to working with you this year!
