Barbara Kucera,RDH, BS is a 1986 graduate of The Ohio State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Certificate in Dental Hygiene. An active member of the Metrolina Component, Barbara is honored to now be a member of the NCDHA Leadership Team!

Barbara has worked in Harrisburg, NC as a full time clinical hygienist for the last 11 years. She is passionate about dental hygiene and prides herself for thinking “outside the box” when providing patient care. Her empathy for patients with dental anxiety and dental phobia motivated her to acquire a Facility Dog, ATKINS to provide Animal Assisted Intervention to create less stressful dental visits for her patients. She is also thankful to be able to “give back” to the community by donating her time to provide free dental services to those in need at the North Carolina Mission of Mercy Clinics and Freedom Day (free dental services for veterans, active military and their families.)

As a Continuing Education Instructor, Barbara draws from her experience, passion and knowledge as she shares her mission to help every patient love coming to the dentist! She is also a published author in Dental Post and Dental Entrepreneur Woman.

Barbara and her husband, Michael, live in Charlotte, NC, have 2 grown children and one precious grandson. In her free time, she loves to volunteer, travel, hike and read!
