Erika Spring, RDH, MEd has been changing lives in dentistry for more than 29 years. Having worked in a variety of roles, including dental assistant, hygienist, patient coordinator, educator, consultant, and speaker. Currently, she is a full time faculty member at Coastal Carolina Community College’s Dental Hygiene Program in Jacksonville, NC. Having completed a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, she is a lifelong learner and is now helping other professionals through education and her consulting company, Spring Innovation, to advance their own careers and practices. 

She welcomes her new role as Vice President in the North Carolina Dental Hygienists’ Association. Her experience and leadership plus other advocacy work, including the Oral Systemic Health Movement, will aid in the vision of NCDHA.  Erika’s educator expertise includes innovative instrumentation, periodontology, and treatment processes where she shares her vast experience in periodontal program development, coupled with leadership and team building.

Finally, Erika extends her work further through an industry partnership with EMS and is a SDA Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) Trainer. Through this effort, she and EMS are bringing science and technology forward through innovations in GBT.
