As NCDHA’s Treasurer, Kristy Wieder is excited for the opportunity to serve the dental hygiene community at the state level! After working for several years as a dental assistant, Kristy couldn’t get enough of the dental world and decided to go back to school to become a hygienist. She received an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC. While working full time in private practice, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental hygiene online from the University of Michigan.
Kristy’s passion for dental hygiene as kept her actively involved in NCDHA since dental hygiene school. She has served in many roles within her local component, Metrolina, throughout her career, including Chair, Trustee and Treasurer. She is also a past NCDHA delegate for the American Dental Hygienists’ Association’s (ADHA) annual House of Delegates.
Kristy enjoys networking with dental hygienists within her community, so much so, she works with her local component to offer high quality continuing education courses at an affordable rate every year in November. In addition to volunteering within our Association, Kristy also has a passion for volunteering in community dental clinics that provide free dental and dental hygiene services to members of her community.
While dental hygiene is a huge passion for Kristy, she is married and has 2 pups that she spoils at home! You can often find her out walking her dogs, and in the occasional time it snows here in NC you will find her sledding or building a snowman!
